PANTONE, the world-renowned authority and provider of color
across a variety of industries, recently has launched the 10 trendy colors of
the year 2016 for spring and summer, as they always do twice a year. This
year's top 10 trendy colors did not only come from fashion outfits of designers
of New York's Fashion Week, but also come from the hairstyle, makeup,
accessories, and interior design of the fashion show. Now, let me introduce
these 10 little lucky colors of this spring/ summer to you. They're Rose
Quartz, Peach Echo, Serenity, Snorkel Blue, Buttercup, Limpet Shell, Fiesta,
Ice Coffee, and last but not less, Green Flash.
Every spring and
summer collection, designers want to bring us sunnier and more floral colors to
build a young and refreshing atmosphere. But if you take a closer look at this
year's color swatches, you'll find out all the colors are kinds of transitions
and adding a touch of gray in it. Like a foggy, lush and blooming garden,
filled with light pink roses, pop yellow daisies, and purple lilacs, these
colors aren't easy to be described. They're more enigmatic and calming, likes a
young woman with her beautiful face covered by chiffon scarf. They are not afraid
to be vibrant that the same times are combined with quieting, classic, and
natural tones. Unisex is also a common sense of this year's trendy colors. Rose
Quartz pink may appear on menswear and Snorkel Blue may be seen in women's
wardrobes. Designers are trying to untie gender difference and the stereotype
of color usage, and make both genders have more options to explore their
perfect color.
Ice Coffee is my favorite trendy color of this year, and
this color certainly became the new fashion darling of the color world.
Throughout this season, you can find tons of brands from high-end to fast
fashion using this color as frequently as the times you drink ice coffee. Ice
Coffee light brown gigot sleeve from Chanel 2016 SS Couture, and the entire
collection of Ralph Lauren 2016 pre-fall, the elegance and subtlety of Ice
Coffee creates a soothing yet stylish image for this SS collection. We also
love this color applying on our daily outfits. It's easy to style and keep, and
it always looks much more expensive than it actually costs from fast fashion
stores.
Another darling from this year's trendy color is Rose
Quartz. Not like other exaggerated and cheesy pinks, Rose Quartz is quite
humble in the pinky world. Rose Quartz Pink seems to have a unique matte finish
of crystal stone. You can feel the calm and the nature from this light pink
with a slice of gray. Because of its neutral and plain tone, Rose Quartz Pink
is widely used on unisex garments, like an embroidered silk baseball jacket in
Alexander Wang 2016 pre-fall, and layout design of Gucci 2016 pre-fall.
If you
didn't have enough time or chance to watch spring/ summer New York Fashion
Week, it's a really interesting and efficient way to absorb the trend by
recognizing these top 10 trendy colors. Don't forget to wear these colors to
bring a twist of fun for this season. au
